Client responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and respectful working environment.
  • Treat workers with dignity and respect.
  • Clearly communicate duties, expectations, and household rules.
  • Address any concerns early through proper communication channels.
  • Provide the agreed salary and working conditions discussed with the worker.

Terms and legal responsibility

Star househelps and Homecare Training Centre acts as a job placement link and mediator between clients and domestic workers. Its responsibility is to provide recruitment, training, screening, and placement services.

Once a worker has been successfully placed, the employer and worker are responsible for maintaining their employment relationship and complying with agreed terms.

Star househelps shall not be held responsible for personal misconduct, dishonesty, theft, negligence, disagreements, or any actions committed by a worker or client after placement. Any legal matters arising between the employer and worker should be handled directly by the parties involved through the appropriate legal channels.

Worker responsibilities

  • Maintain honesty, discipline, and professionalism.
  • Respect the employer, family members, and household property.
  • Perform duties responsibly and follow agreed instructions.
  • Communicate any challenges respectfully and early.
  • Give proper notice before leaving employment.
  • Maintain good work ethics at all times.

Terms and legal responsibility

Workers understand that Star househelps and Homecare Training Centre provides placement, training, and guidance services only. After placement, workers remain personally responsible for their conduct, decisions, and actions while working with the client.

Leaving employment without proper notice, disappearing from work, dishonesty, misconduct, or interfering with placement services may affect future employment opportunities through Star househelps.

Workers involved in misconduct may be removed from the placement database and may not be considered for future job opportunities through Star househelps. A professional working relationship requires honesty, respect, commitment, and responsibility from both the employer and the worker.

Free replacement and registration fee

Important replacement terms - please read.

  • Each worker pays a Ksh. 2,000 office registration fee.
  • The employer pays this amount in advance on behalf of the worker and deducts it from the worker's first salary.
  • The same arrangement applies to any replacement worker.
  • The replacement service itself remains free to the employer.

How replacement registration is handled

If the previous worker had already worked long enough for the Ksh. 2,000 to be deducted, the employer deducts it from that worker's salary and uses it to pay the office for the new worker's registration fee. The employer still receives the replacement at no additional service cost and recovers the Ksh. 2,000 from the first salary of the new worker.

If the previous worker only worked for a few days and the earnings did not cover the Ksh. 2,000, the salary for those days will be paid to the office by the employer to offset the registration fee where it was not initially deducted. The employer still receives the replacement at no additional service cost and recovers the Ksh. 2,000 from the first salary of the new worker.

In both situations, payment is made only through the official office M-Pesa Till Number 565227 (Star Housegirls Mlolongo).
